Sound stopped working
Ok, I just loaded up Fedora Core 3 today. Sound worked fine. I ran the up2date like the icon told me to, and everything seemed to go alright, save for my sound. I no longer get any. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? And more importantly, how to fix it?
I ran the "sound card detector" from the applications menu, and it detects the card and everything, i just get no audio playback (but i did before the grand update) Thanks! |
This may sound overly obvious, but open up your sound program and make sure your "default" is still set to "on" with all channels. With many Fedora upgrades, mine has defaulted to "off."

I opened up the volume control, and made sure things weren't muted, and i also ran alsamixer as well, and didn't see anything that said 'default: off' or anything like that. What sound program are you thinking of? I'm lost. Thanks

Am experiencing same problem. I, too was wondering, since he sound has worked earlier. Disturbing.

Is this useful to you? I made it work, but now I can't adjust the sound output...
