sound realtek alc888.

hi,

I have a realtek alc888 soundcard and I downloaded the latest driver : realtek-linux-audiopack-4.05b and just ran ./install under root. The drivers got installed nicely and the sound worked fine. But after reboot no sound nor drivers etc. How do I save it? Should I run it manually or do I now have different versions of the kernel after compiling the graphical drivers? Any lead?

ok I fixed it. Suse got a blacklist of modules in /etc/modprobe.d and the alsa one I installed was there so the module did not get loaded at boot.

I hope this helps someone.
