Sound problem: I can't hear anything in fedora 11

I was giong to post in a software section but when I executed "alsactl init " I thought it might be a hardware problem.

Quote:

[root@fedora11 ahmad]# alsactl initUnknown hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Nvidia ID 3" "HDA:111d7603,103c3629,00100202 HDA:11c11040,103c137e,00100200 HDA:10de0003,10de0101,00100000" "0x103c" "0x3629"
Hardware is initialized using a guess method

Also I've checked the alsamixer and nothing is muted......everything is set to maximum.
