I aquired an old Dell Latitude CPI D266XT laptop a little while back. Of course the first thing I did with it was install linux. I have everything up and running, but one problem:
no sound
I'm no sure what to do. I know this has been discussed a lot but I don't understand / it didn't apply to debian.
I am using xubuntu, which is pretty much ubuntu with xfce, which is pretty much debian.
So can someone help me get this working with debian instructions?
Also, I want to be able to use the XFCE sound plugin (if that matters)
you will want the alsa sound tools, there are very good howto's on the lq wiki pages
i used those docs myself, when first having sound issues with debian testing so you should do just fine.
