I have a sound problem. When i play movies with mplayer, the sound isn't smooth, it has glitches... I think it's related to the sound driver.

If you look at an overamplified audio signal on an oscilliscope, the highest peaks will be flattened (clipped) because they exceed the capacity of the amplifier. This can produce a clicking noise or, in extreem cases, gaps.
ok, so how do i resolve this problem...? i don't understand how i can resolve this only by setting the volume down... i don't hear anything if i down the volume... i mean, now the volume is set just so i feel comfortable... if i set it lower... well it's not that comfortable.
