Sound Card module

Hi, I got a new sound card, I downloaded the drivers, untared it, etc. But when I modprobe it, there's an error that says "/lib/modules/2.4.19/misc/au8820.o was compiled for kernel version 2.4.18 while this kernel is version 2.4.19" After installing the drivers, do I now need to recompile my kernel?

When you got your drivers, were they pre-compiled or did you download the source?

The source. Because I then had to do a make install.

Hmmm. Is there a patch available for this driver to bring it up to .19? I would have thought that if you compiled a module under .19 to be run under .19 it would be fine, though. You could try recompiling the kernel... what's the harm?
