Sound card detection problem...
 

I am experiencing problem in playing sound. I have Red Hat 9 installed on a i686 system with Intel d915gvwb mother board having built in sound card.

I downloaded the audio driver for linux from intel site and installed it, but still it doesn't play any sound.

I opened Info Center and the following information was present in the Sound section:

Card config:
ICH6 HDA IDBO 1.1.3B AT 0X201C0000 irq 11

Audio devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

How could I solve it...

Open the command line and type "alsaconfig" and follow the few instructions.
This solved the problem for me, hope 4 u 2.
