Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Sound Blaster Live! not detected!

Hello, I am new to linux (i'm using fedora core 2), and have recently installed Fedora Core 2. Everything is working fine except for the soundcard. It is a Sound Blaster Live!. When I run the soundcard detection utility, it says that no soundcards were detected.
I've installed alsa driver following the instruction i found in alsa web site. May be it's useful to know that i've a integrated soud card before installing sb live, and when i run linux the first time after installing sb live the automatic hardware configuration tool asked me to uninstall the integrated sound card, but not to install the sb live. I've tried to deactivate the onboard sound card in BIOS, but nothing. What cann I do? I'm desperate!
