I changed my soundcard a while ago, but i've never really care of sound until now. Fact is, when I was using my onboard ac97 audio, things were just fine, but when i changed to this SB Live! 24 things got complicated. First it did'nt even got recognized in the startup, (i was running kernel 2.6.5), so I got the new kernel and put it to work. Now, my card gets detected on startup but alsa dowsn't recognize it. I got a message like this in the startup
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.9rc2 (Thu Mar 24 10:33:39 2005 UTC).
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:05.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
Model 1006 Rev 00000000 Serial 10061102
ALSA device list:
#0: Live! 7.1 24bit [SB0410] at 0xec00 irq 11
when i run alsaconf it says that i don't have any PnP or PCI sound card on my sistem... when i run xmms there is no sound nor error messages either, is just like if the card is muted, but when i lunch a mixer app, there isn't a single teb or meter (yes, it's empty!)
Can anyone can help me?
BTW: I've compiled the 2.6.11 kernel with ca0106 support, both as into-the-kernel and as a module, when I compile it as a module, when I try to set up the modules for the kernel it says something like undefined symbols for de module snd-ca0106, and it shows up a pair of modules for ac97 sound (why?

)
