Sound Blaster Live!24-bit not working on OpenSuse 10.2

How do I get my Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit Internal card to work with OpenSuse 10.2?It is not working by itself so configuration must be neccessary. I am new to linux so please keep your instruction newbish. Thanks.

Hi,

First, as a normal user become root,

#su
<root password>

$alsaconf

and see if your sound card is detected..if so alsa will offer to configure it
Let it do so. then as root still

$alsamixer

un-mute and adjust the sound levels...thenleave alsamixer
(Esc ends alsamixer)
$alsactl store

and leave root with
$exit
#
and your sound should work...
