Sound Blaster Audigy LS Problem - "Mixer attach default error: Invalid argument"

Hey there.

I'm running Debian testing, and installed the SoundBlaster Audigy LS soundcard. Running alsa-conf initializes the modules perfectly (I've tried both prebuilt and locally compiled), but running "alsamixer" gives this error:
Quote:
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: Invalid argument
I have absolutely no sound at the moment, and I have no idea on how to fix this. Someone please help.

Have you tried any other mixers? Any other output? /sbin/lsmod, chunks of dmesg, anything other than the error?
Good luck.

Ah, got it. ESD was somehow occupying the soundcard - I didn't even realize that, since apt-get is supposed to remove ESD when installing PulseAudio.
