i have a new install of slackware 10.2 I cannot get the usb mouse to work so i have a ps/2 installed. I have tried usb USB Usb Auto and so on. It is a 3 button optical usb mouse. Also I cannot get the sound card to work. Under alsa mixer it says Card: Ensoniq AudioPCI Chip: Asahi Kasei AK4531 but under sound system in control center it says ES1370 which it also says under windows. The mouse and sound card both works under windows but I cannnot remember how to get them to work under linux. Any help would be appericated.

Can't help with the mouse, but what is the exact problem with the sound card? It looks as though Slackware is detecting it okay but you just can't play any sounds. Have you tried running 'alsaconf' and 'alsamixer'? You may also need to change permissions on it. The easiest (although insecure) way to do this is
