after 4 years on a toshiba satellite 1400-503 and a fedora commitment I switched to a sony vaio vgn-c1z ad suse 10.2. Suse is working pretty well: after downloading nvidia drivers and wlan support I can declared myself at a good point, after few days of search. Unluckily the sonypi driver and the sound card are not working at all. Has anybody already faced a similar problem? let me know!
As far as the sound goes, run something like alsamixer (or the mixer of your choice), and make sure the sound isn't muted. SuSE did that for me on my last two installs. If you're not muted, things can progress from there.
What's not working with sonypi? What happens when you try to load the module?
