Sony-Vaio-Intel Cantiga Integrated Graphics Drivers

Hi,

I Installed Fedora 10 on a Sony Vaio Laptop "VGN-150J". All hardware works out of the box, apart from the VGA Card.

The output from lsusb command, shows the following card was detected.
Intel Corporation Cantiga Integrated Graphics Controller

Anyone with information, on what drivers would enable 3D acceleration on the laptop's VGA.

Thanks.

I didn't find it...

Is the full model designation Vaio NS VGN-501J? I was looking for the specifications for the graphics chip but didn't find them.

If you have or can install the package for "lshw" you can use it with root privileges in a terminal and perhaps find which Intel chipset you have.

Intel has drivers for linux, but there may not be one for your Vaio.

Hi,

many thanks for the reply. I found out the VGA adapter and Fedora 11 seems to resolve the problem with loading the correct driver.
For Future Users with similar problems, VESA drivers also support the Sony Vaio's Intel chipest pretty well.
