[Note: I obviously missed the correct section of the Forum where to post this one. I thought I selected "Linux - Hardware" properly, but I was wrong. I'd be grateful if someone could move it to where it belongs - if this is technically possible. Sorry.]
I'm running Fedora Core 2 on an old Compaq Armada 7800 laptop, and I'm wondering how to see my Sony Micro Vault USB Pen (USM128U2) in it. I know this pen works fine (as well as the USB port on this laptop) because W98, on the other partition, can load it up.
My guess here is that the kernel should do everything I need, and that I should expect to see the pen drive appear on my Desktop as I insert it - but it won't.
Following are a few ( ) lines from /var/log/messages: the kernel seems to find the USB Pen at address 14 ( ), but something then goes wrong. If I try fdisk /dev/sda fdisk will apparently stall and I'll have to shut down the Terminal (being a , I'd try CTRL-C but that won't work - is there a better command to force processes stop?)
Here comes the log:

Please note that hardware is ok, as I said before W98 can handle the USB Pen just fine on the very same machine .
Thanks in advance,
