SONY dvdrecorder and SuSE 8.2 problem

Hi!

Me and my sysadmin are struggling on a problem and maybe you guys have an idea of what is going wrong.

He installed a DVD-RW burner (which is also a cd-rw burner) from Sony and we encounter problems when trying to use it. For example, when we want to blank a CD-RW, we get the following from xcdroast:

Received ALARM from cdrecord-ProDVD. Aborting blank...
Invalid ProDVD key?

But we do have a valid ProDVD key! We have this problem on two computers, both with SuSE 8.2 and the same drive. Any idea?

Thanks!
