sond card issues

ok. i have an IBM thinkpad a22e. The soundcard used to work untill today when it just didnt play anymore yet the sound still works under windows 2000. When i use the soundcard config utility it plays the test sound fine. but in xmms music will not play unless i have it play wit the OSS driver for output. but it seems to play twice as fast. Realplayer will not play anyhong at all. Anyone have any ideas. Im using a variation of redhat 8. any suggestions would be helpful
