Angry something in my monitor configuration fucked up - help


hello, im using Slackware 9.1, and i restarted my computer, and now tryed to login - then 'startx', and he said something like:
IO Fatal error (0.0)
could not find monitor.

im writing this at the moment through lynx. i tryed 'xf86config' too - and i did it and wrote down my horizonital and vertival sync - and it still does this message.
please help me, it ha[[ed to me when i was using SuSE 8.2, and now it happens is Slack 9.1 .

Wow, that's an amazing thing!
Take a look at your /var/log/XFree86.0.log file near the end, and see what EE (errors) you are getting, Post all the (EE) stuff.
Try 'cat /var/log/XFree86.0.log | grep EE' and see what pops out.
What is the make/model of the monitor?
Did you power down, and disconnect both ends of the monitor cable (if possible), and reconnect to see if that helps. A lose connector has been the downfall of more than one computer.
Post the relevent parts of your X config file. Someone here might be able to help.
