I have a SMC EtherEZ Hub 3605T that allows my DSL modem to plug into it and two computers using Windows XP can connect to the internet and see eachother just fine. The DSL modem is plugging into a port labeled "Daisy Chain".
One of those machines has RedHat 9 on a dual boot. It is using a Intel 21041-Based PCI Ethernet Adapter. When it boots to Linux the HUB port light that it is connected to does not turn on and no connection is found. The drivers are installed properly because when I disconnect the HUB and plug the modem directly into the computer everything works fine.
Does anyone know what RedHat 9 is doing differently that would not allow it to communicate through the HUB? To the best of my knowledge the HUB is just a "dumb" HUB and has no special configureability.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
