I am running SuSE 9.2 on an ASUS A3000. My mouse and trackpad were out of control at first, but I was able to successfully slow down the acceleration to the min. of 1.0. While this is a considerable improvement, it is still quite zippy. YaST does not allow me to enter values below 1.0. What to do?
You could try editing /etc/X11/XF86Config (or maybe it is /etc/X11/xorg.conf , it depends....).
Find the part where it says Section "Pointer" and add a line that says Resolution 200 . Then restart X by logging out and then logging in again. 200 works well for me, but try some other numbers until your mouse feels right.
Well, that sure didn't help my problem with this. I just bought a new laser mouse, and it looks like until I find out how to fix this problem, I'll be having to use windows. An inch of movement causes the pointer to move all the way across the whole screen. It's utterly unusable.
