Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Slackware to other HDD.

I got a 120 GB HDD which has 4 partitions that fill the whole HDD. The partitions are /home, /, /boot and swap. I've got Slackware installed in it.

I'm about to attach another HDD to my computer which is about 6 GB big. I'm going to install another Slackware to it.

I just want to know if there is anything special I should know before doing it. Can I use the other harddrive's swap? I don't want to replace my LILO settings I already have, so what do I do when I have to configure LILO?

No no no, I got one Slackware installed and want to install a second Slackware but since I got my primary harddisk filled, I need to attach another one.

I will upgrade that to Tukaani (which is a Slackware fork) and start making packages for it. That's why I need another Slackware installation.

What if I'd install FreeBSD to another harddrive? I've never installed or used a *BSD before. Can I use the swap partition of the another harddrive? How do I set the LILO, which came with Slackware, so that it has FreeBSD as one of it's boot options?
