Slackware Memory

I have a slackware 10.1 install running on a compaq Dl360. It has 4 gb of memory but linux is only seeing 1 gig. When I bootup the server does see 4 gig. If I do a free -m it shows 882 total any ideas.
thanks

Try appending mem=4096 to your kernel boot parameters.

Memory fix

To enable the kernel to see all 4G you must enable
High Memory Support
and recompile your kernel
high mem is under 'Processor type and features' in menuconfig

The append option will only limit the amount of memory used by the kernel
It will not enable memory above 1G
