Slackware 9.1 installation problem
HI guys I just bought a new computeur and I was looking forward to intall slackware 9.1. I installed earlier version of slack before with no problem(on my other comp). Before I continue here's the specs of my new comp.
P4 3ghs ht 800mhz 2x512 megs Asus p4p800 Maxtor 120gig 6y120mo SATA ( I think this might be the source of the problem) ati radeon 9800 pro As usual i type enter on the prompt in order to boot the default kernel..everythings goes fine he does detect my maxtor sata drive but a couple of lines bellow I get hdg:attached ide-disk driver and it completly frezzes im quite sure the problem is related with my hd. I dont understand the kernel version that comes with slack does support sata drives. I also tryed other kernel like adaptec ans scsi...since sata drives are considered as scsi drive... Any suggestions? thx guys |
"hdg:attached ide-disk driver
and it completly frezzes" It appears to freeze while looking at hdg. hdg is the primary hard drive on the second IDE slot on a secondary IDE controller. Do you have a second IDE chipset, i.e. a pci secondary disk controller card? Do you have any device attached to /dev/hdg? ___________________________________ Be prepared.
