Slackware 10.2 and Creative Sound Blaster

Hi,

I'm a newbie and I'm tryin' to get my sound card working.
I downloaded the driver and did this:
$installpkg driver.name-version(blabla)

It's (ofcourse)not working. My guess is that I'm missing something or haven't done something to get the driver working.

you shouldnt need to do that with a sound blaster.

all you should have to do is (as root):

alsaconf
alsamixer
alsactl store

no problem. sound blaster support doesnt require additonal software.

don't forget to run "xorgconf". this will enable a decent graphics set up. if you want you wheel mouse to work then come back at do a search for 'wheel mouse slackware' or something.
