Slack on Compaq Deskpro :-/

I recently purchased a Compaq Deskpro EP from a friend for $25... Hey wanted an extra machine to just f_around on... I format the HD and put my slack disk in... create swap drive... evrything is going fine.. slack installs perfect... I restart the computer and BAM... Error Loading Operating System... does anyone know why this is, how I can get around it and if not what else I can try to do?

try booting with a rescue disk. If that doesnt work , then you know why it was $25. No, seriously, might even want to check around at your config with a knoppix disk as well.

No... I figured it out and feel real dumb to it as well... I found out I could boot from CD so I looked around config... and found out I forgot to install lilo which makes it work now
