hi guys running slack9 with kernel 2.4.22 and i have a dvd-rom drive and a dvd+r+rw burner drive and i think both are connted to one ide cable and it seems tha tonly ONE seems to w0rk under linux.. the dvd burner.. but the problem is that the formats that it recognizes are iso9966 or whatever the normal cdrom standards are, and it doens't recognize ne of my dvd's...

now i checked up on this and udf is the dvd rom file-system and i didn't see it when i checked my /proc/filesystems/
nodev rootfs
nodev bdev
nodev proc
nodev sockfs
nodev tmpfs
nodev shm
nodev pipefs
ext3
ext2
nodev ramfs
umsdos
msdos
vfat
iso9660
nodev nfs
reiserfs
nodev devpts
nodev usbdevfs
nodev usbfs

also i don't see it in my fstab...

/dev/hdb5 / ext3 defaults 1 1
/dev/hda1 /c vfat defaults 1 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

i would figure the new slack would hae it...

do i have to recompile my kernal or what?

and if nebody can help.. ne notes on getting my other dvd-rom working?
