sis630/730 in Redhat 8

Hi, i've installed Redhat 8 on my pc, everything looks ok, but, by the time i'm working the pc stops, and looks like it would be blocked.
This happens, normally, when i close a window, i watch for the graphics config and the driver for my card looks well, but the driver is not showing the memory of the card it just say 'memory size: unknown'. The hardware of my pc is a M810 motherboard with a sis630/730 graphics card (the other hardware looks like working fine).
Thanks for the help!.

SIS 730

I have the same motherboard and SIS 730 chipset. I have never had your problem. The only hardware option that I can think of that might be related is to check in the bios for video memory size. The amount of main memory that is set aside for video memory is a bios option. Perhaps your video memory amount is set incorrectly.

M 810 should be working ok with xfree 4.2 and up.It works with lower versions but the driver there is somewhat limited.
I even had 3d acceleration working out-of-the-box with debian unstable without any tweaking.
Send me a email if you are interested in my config file.

Thanks, think i found the problem and it wasn't the video card.
The truth is that i did a full installation and the Redhat installed the kernel in a "BigMem" mode, and no in a normal mode, well i'm not sure if that was the problem, but i reinstalled the Linux without this option and up to now it is working pretty well, Thanks anyway.
