sharing hp psc 1210 over samba

HI,
I have a hp psc 1210 printer. It is connected to a Fedora Core 3 box over USB. I can print from the linux box properly. I am trying to share this printer over my home network. I am running samba and am sharing this printer. From my windows xp laptop I can see this printer and when i try to connect to it, xp tries to install the driver for it and comes back saying it cant find the driver. So tried to find the driver on the HP disc but xp can not see the driver. however when i connect printer directly to the xp then it loads the driver and I am able to print. So what do i do to fix this problem.

Thanks

You have to load the printer drivers on Windows to print to Linux printers. Windows process the file then sends it to printer. You might have to manually search for the driver yourself, sometimes you can use "autorun.inf" to load the right driver.

yes I did try to run autorun.inf but xp says it can not find the driver. and xp also does not have the driver for 1210 in the list of drivers for hp.

When it ask for driver, click manual install, then have disk, then browse, then look on the disk probally under drivers.

Xp does not have the driver for psc 1210. The latest driver it has is for psc 950. I tried to install this driver but it does not print with this driver. When I try to connect using this driver it says Access denied.

Here is the driver for XP
http://drivers.soft32.com/driver/dow...one-18558.html

Make sure FC3 will let XP connect, can you see network shares? If not check firewall. FC3 should have smb4k for a network GUI.
