SEtting up WLAN

Yeah well, I'm out of ideas by now. I have a WLAN Router from Siemens(Gigaset series) which is directly connected to a PC via a LAN cable and my lappy has a wireless card. I do receive the inet connection from the router, so i can use inet from the lappy. so, theoritcally, i should be able to setup a wlan? wrong! i'm failing at this task

so ok, iwhat's the big deal. why does the lappy automatically connect to my domain but they don't seem to be too eager to exchange data with each other?
