Setting up s-video out for NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M

I've got an HP Pavillion dv6636nr laptop, and I'm trying to make it so that when I plug the s-video into my TV, the system automtically picks up the extra display and displays the desktop on the TV. This is one of my last steps in ditching Vista for a fully-functional Linux system! The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M, and I'm running Linuz Mint 3.1 Celena. I don't even know where to get started here so any help would be appreciated.

Here is an alternative approach, using nvidia-settings, which you may need to install, with Ubuntu as point of departure:

Howto setup twinview tv-out and compiz (nvidia)
