Setting up microphone for Skype.

I have never used my microphone on linux, however I did go into audio mixer settings and found that I did get response from my mic (level bars go up and down as I speak louder/softer etc.) -How do I get my mic to work in skype? It is not capturing sound.

Skype Settings under sound devices are as follows:

Microphone: PulseAudio server (local)
Speakers: PulseAudio server (local)
Ringing: PulseAudio server (local)

I have unchecked the allow skype to automatically adjust my mixer levels, but it wasn't working before I unchecked that...

Any help is appreciated.

If you mic is configured, and it doesn't work with skype, just change the sound device in "Microphone" section, and test it with skype's test call. But remember that you must have it configured with alsamixer, kmix or other mixer
