Set permanent permissions on Ext3 HD

I just formatted a 40 GB HD. It is labeled BackupDrive. I need to set permanent permissions so that all users and guests over a Samba share can read and write to the disk. I believe I need to use fstab, but I need some help with the command I would add. I am using OpenSuse 11.1

The mount point appears to be /media/BackupDrive_

What type of file system is this?

Provide the output of the command:

mount

Also, I don't think you want to keep it mounted under /media/BackupDrive_ so are you going to make a directory /samba or something?

Code:
man fstab
man mount
In particular search for the option "umask". That should help you in /etc/fstab. <edit> Hint: Should be something like "umask=0000,..." in the options field. </edit>
