Set BIOS to read external DVD player at boot
 
Can this be done ?

I can't see anything in the BIOS setup that will let me, but I don't know much about BIOS set up.

Whether this is possible depends on your bios. If it is it would be a setting under boot device order, something similar--again where these features are is BIOS dependent.
