Server Freezing after disconnected cdrom

Hi,

i found problem on my HP blade 460CG7 server, installed RHEL 5.4 which freezing when i disconnected the external cdrom, Sony DRU-510A. To restart that hang server, i have to force by press the power button.
Problem also found when server is booting, there are kernel panic messages indicates the system need the cdrom device. Now, the server is up, but its only want to start with the cdrom attached there.

here is few information

[root@tamax-03 ~]# uname -a
Linux tamax-03 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 15:51:48 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

...

Messages log lines before server was hung :

Nov 7 19:00:16 tamax-03 kernel: usb 4-2: USB disconnect, address 2

I have checked the fstab, modprobe, udev & sysctl configuration, nothing has changed there. I have tried to remove-single-device on /proc/scsi/scsi for cdrom device also, but server still hang when cdrom was disconnected.

Anyone have found similar with this problem?
I appreciate for any help & advise, thanks.

The cdrom device /dev/sr0 was not mounted, so it's ok to remove directly, isn't it?

From dmesg, Why there are two cdrom detections, the first as an usb device and the second one is scsi?
