Unhappy Serial to USB Port Converter for Laptop and CDMA Phone

Hi,
For reasons beyond me, an Indian Telecom company has released CDMA phones which only connect to the serial port. Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have a serial port; so I got a Serial to USB converter but the CD only came with Windows drivers.
Now I need to connect to the net using Redhat 9 Kernel 2.4... but I haven't been able to find the drivers for the converter. I was wondering if anybody could point out where to find them.
Thanks,
U.
Be Linux ...

Serial to USB port converter

Sorry, this is not really about Linux. Your post was regarding this problem of the Indian telecom company releasing CDMA phones which connect to serial ports. Actually I'm facing the same problem. And when I asked about a Serial port to USB converter in the market, I was told that while USB to serial port converters are available, serial to USB converters were NOT. Are you sure that you got a serial to USB converter?

Hi,
I got it from a guy here in Delhi. It is a Serial to USB converter. I use it with Reliance LG lq something. The wireless landline.
If you have a choice go for the phone with the usb modem cause reliance offers linux drivers for that as well.
I have not been able to figure out how to use the phone in reliance till now which really p***es me off!
NAnyway, if any body has any clue pls let me know.
thanks
