Reading documents and it says 25 pin serial port is called RS232 and 9 port serial port is called RS574.
But right now my collegue kept refering to a 9 port serial port as RS232 port. Did I get mistakened or do people just generally refer a serial port ad RS232 port.
You might be technically correct that the name is RS-574 for serial interface using a 9 pin connector but electrically it is still RS-232. Being from the old school I still refer to all PC serial ports as RS-232.
