Anyone know of a good place that I could find a motherboard for a AMD k7 slot-a?
Ive checked a few manufactureres sites without any luck. I tried searching in google as well, but I've had my fills of reviews
Electro thanks for the links. I was actually thinking of getting that Abit board LOL. Thanks for umm... finding it for me.
and also for the froogle google tip. Didnt even know about it.
/me sighs and tries to push this point one more time using the exact words for a board from the website electro linked...
Soyo SY-KT400 Dragon Ultra (BLACK) VIA KT400 SY-K7VX4B
AMD Socket-A AthlonXP, Athlon & Duron Based VIA KT400 Chipset ATX Motherboard
socket socket socket socket socket. I know its a little thing. But it is important especially for ordering these things over the phone. If you end up with some clueless tech and say slot, your going to confuse them. Socket!
Early Athlon's used slot a, early Pentium 3's used slot 1. Athlon's now use socket a, or socket 462. Newer Pentium 3's used socket 370, pentium 4's use socket 478.
Caeda, not to offend you but Soyo motherboards are cheap and they are not as reliable as ASUS, ABIT, or Gigabyte. KT400 chipsets are worthless for Socket A. I suggest nForce2 chipsets. Who ever orders by phone. Phone can be tapped and I'm worried who I'm giving out my credit card number. These days buying over the internet is secured.
yup, its a slot-a not a socket-a. Well, according to AMD anyways. Here's a list of the boards that they know of. Just wasnt sure as to where I could find them.
