Hello, I have a 9.1GB hard disc on an Adaptec AHA2940UW card. The card is detected and the correct module is loaded but the attached drive is not. Mandrake 10.1 Official Download edition.

The card detects the drive and gives no error messages, it spins up fine and was working in the machine I pulled it from.

I'm assuming that the SCSI drive should appear as /dev/sda but nothing shows up anywhere - harddrake only shows the IDE disc.

I'm new to using SCSI, so I'm not sure why this is so, I apologise if I'm asking a dumb question....

Sorry, it was me being an idiot, I hadn't loaded the aic7xxx and the sd_mod modules.

All is working fine now...
