Whats the graphic card you use?

Do you have an internal graphics card and using a pci card?

Have you checked the BIOS if you have selected the proper graphics card and VGA memory

Cheers

I don't have any answers I'm afraid, but there is another thread that seems to be about the same problem: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=335173

It's probably worth watching.

I have had a similar experience with a few different distros on a couple different computers. Most likely the distro isn't recognizing your video card properly. You could try downloading a live distro like knoppix and booting it up to check out the xorg.conf file to see what the settings are and compare it to the settings fedora core 4 set up.
