I am trying to setup a "Benq S2W 3300U" scanner for use on SuSE 8.2. In the YaST Control centre I choose scanners and it tells me I have an "Acer - S2W 33000U/4300U". I'm assuming this is correct as Acer changed their name to Benq did they not...? Or have I just made that up?
Anyway while it says that, it still asks me to select my make and model from a list for it to be installed as. That would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that the scanner isn't on the list.
Acer doesn't appear on this list at all, and while Benq does, my particular model does not. I tried using other Benq models in the hopes it would be "close enough" but had no luck. Can anybody help?
SANE still has limited support for some scanners (after all, there are like 1000 models out there), so its possible that your model is simply not supported. My HP scanner also falls into that category.
