Scanner in HP all-in-one not detected via external print-server
I have a Deskjet 1050 connected to my network via a D-Link DP-301U USB print server. The printer works great via CUPS, but the scanner isn't detected, XSane, SimpleScan, et al only see the internal webcam:
scanimage -L
device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname HP Webcam-101 virtual device
The scanner is detected via direct USB connect, so it isn't a driver issue.
Relevant parts of sane-find-scanner output:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0x8911 [Deskjet 1050 J410 series]) at libusb:002:002
and lsusb:
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 03f0:8911 Hewlett-Packard
Since the scanner isn't automagically detected, I assume the print server doesn't support scanning over Ethernet. Is there any way to take the LSUSB information and the known static IP and make a connection over the network?
