Scanner Artec e+ 48 U usb problem


hi all
i installed MDK 9.1 and the scanner Artec e+ 48 u usb was recognized perfectly..
Xsane works only when i login as root.
If i login as user xsane don't recognize the scanner.
Wich settings i must mdify ?

I recently bought one of those (Actually Memorex 48U - apparently this is a re-badged generic scanner used by several different manufacturers), since it was only $15.00, but gave up & returned it to the store since it looked like it was gonna be a pain to get working.

Anyway my scanner works ok only as root.
my little problem is to avoid log as root to scan an image.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hmm... possibly the permissions on the scanner device don't allow normal users? Check /dev/scanner (or /dev/usb/scanner or whatever it may be called) to see if users have read permission. I don't know if they would need write permission also...
