sb32 ide controller
hey all
I have an sb 32 boundcard with an onboard ide controller. i thought i might connect a fourth harddrive to it. probelm is, when the kernel boots, it sees the drive as hdg (and the drive is set to master) but doesnt go past the probe and keeps reseting the irq. Is it possible to use this controller under linux (it works fine under windoze)
I will post the full error message soon.
thanks
And here it is:
hdg: attached ide-disk driver
hdg: irq timeout: status =0x50 {drive ready seek complete}
hdg:12672450 sectors (6488 mb) m/512 kib cache chs 13140/15/63
/dev//ide/host3/bus0/target0/lun0: hdg: irq timeout: status 0x50 {drive ready seek complete}
ide3: reset: success
.....
and so it goes on
anyone know what this means? as i said before, can i use this controller with linux? it only does this when there is a drive attached.
any other information you want, let me know.
