Angry SB Live! detected, no sound when tested

I just installed Fedora(kernel 2.4.22-1.2115) and my system detects my SB Live! card just fine but the test sound doesn't play. sndconfig also detects the card just fine but says "An error occured while writing the config file" when I try to set it up. Also, aumix is not muted.

Have a look at /dev/dsp*, /dev/mixer*, /dev/midi*, /dev/sequencer* and /dev/audio*.
This is what mine look loke,
Code:
bern@beast bern $ ll /dev/dsp*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            4 Feb  3 17:33 /dev/dsp -> dsp0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 14, 3 Aug 29 2003 /dev/dsp0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 14, 19 Aug 29 2003 /dev/dsp1
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 14, 35 Aug 29 2003 /dev/dsp2
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 14, 51 Aug 29 2003 /dev/dsp3
bern@beast bern $

Ok, I checked those files out. Here's what /dev/dsp* looked like

[root@localhost bill]# ll /dev/dsp*
crw------- 1 bill root 14, 3 Sep 15 09:40 /dev/dsp
crw------- 1 bill root 14, 19 Sep 15 09:40 /dev/dsp1
crw------- 1 bill root 55, 0 Sep 15 09:40 /dev/dsp56k

It doesn't look a bit like yours, so what does this mean? By the way, what exactly is that "ll" command?

Ok, the command "chmod 666" will change the permissions to rw-rw-rw, do "man chmod" for the full instructions.
The command "ll" is what I use as an alias for "ls -al", and I use "l" as an alias for ls -l". You can set an alias in your ~/.bashrc file.
This is what I have for "ll" and "l"
Code:
alias ll="ls -al --color"
alias l="ls -l --color"

Ok, I used chmod to change the permissions for /dev/dsp*, /dev/mixer*, /dev/midi*, /dev/sequencer*, and /dev/audio*. I still can't get the test sound to play though. Is there something else that I have to do?
