SB Audigy on OpenSuse 10.2 not be working :(
Hello all,
I have a problem getting sound working on a dell dimension e520 machine. The sound card is an onboard Sound-Blaster Audigy Advanced HD Audio. The linux system is OpenSuse 10.2 with kernel 2.6.18.2-34-default. I tried all as root.
I surfed the web a few days, but could not get the card working.
I tried to start alsamixer to unmute, but it says:
alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument
alsaconf says:
setting default volumes
amixer: Mixer default load error: Invalid argument
lsmod says the following:
snd_hda_intel 37660 1
snd_hda_codec 220160 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_pcm 115464 3 snd_pcm_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 44680 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd_hda_intel 37660 1
snd_hda_codec 220160 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_pcm 115464 3 snd_pcm_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 44680 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
lspci says:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)
00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev f2)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801HH (ICH8DH) LPC Interface Controller (rev 02)
yast tells me that kernel module snd-emu-10k1 could not be loaded. Loading it manually seems to be working, but without success on hearing any sound.
I tried to turn off sound in KDE sound system as well.
xmms says:
** WARNING **: alsa_get_mixer(): Failed to load mixer: Invalid argument
I really hope someone can help me.
Regards,
Tom
