I want to save them in my machine with OGG format (No problem with MP3)

How to do it if It's possible .

No matter if I can do it with mp3 or ogg ...

Any helps will be appreciated

I am using Red Hat 9 and I found that Grip was relatively easy to use to save my cd's. I have been using the .ogg format but it says it does .mp3 also.

It wasn't done extremely fast but I haven't delved deep into the configuration settings yet.

Can anyone help please ?

Grip is just a frontend for cdparanoia and a pile of encoders, you could try running cdparanoia from the commandline and encode the files by hand.

How ?

Is this an advanced level (Encoding files by hand) ?

Look on freshmeat for abcde "a better cd encoder". It's a command line proggie that rips and encodes in just about every format there is. Im in the middle of ripping 200+ CD's to ogg format, and it's a breeze to use once you edit the config file to your preferences.

Give an example please .

The problem is I have grip built in already on my system,,But it's not working .

What to do ?

ehdwuld 10-03-2003 12:36 PM

which version of RH do you have?

mine is RH9

grip works great

stored my cd collection just fine

Anmar 10-03-2003 12:55 PM

9 beta or 8 beta I think .
And I want to format and install the latest rh, But I'm still not sure if my modem would work on it or not ,,So I'm scared to format .
If I format and then internet is not working,,I die .

What to do ?
