SATA problem with P4V800-X & Seagate ST380013AS


config.:
Asus P4V800-X with VIA PT800
Seagate ST380013AS SATA
Intel Proc.
Mandrake 9.2 Down. Edition & Fedora Core 1

I could not make my distros recognize my sata disk.
Are there anybody experienced this and/or help me?
