Samsung TFT Monitor-- Insects
 

I have a problem with my brand new Flat screen monitor manufactured by Samsung.
Due to the design of this particular screen, insects have been able to enter the screen and are visible crawling around behind the illuminated image.
Initially Samsung offered to replace the screen but then renaged on their offer and told me that I was imagining things and that insects could not enter the screen.
Subsequently they have acknowledged that their design leaves open access to the screen apparently to permit cooling and they now accept the insects, dirt, etc can enter in between the various elements of the screen. They claim that God put the insects in there and that they are not responsible.
I can advise anyone thinking of purchasing an LCD flat screen monitor that if it is similar to Samsung's design and insects enter the screen it is far worse than any computer virus I have encountered.
Appologies if I have missed any punctuation my insects provide me with more than I need.
Any suggestions on what I should do much appreciated.

You might have a case going with the Sales of Goods act, (providing you bought it in the UK of course), the screen has become unfit for it's purpose due to a design or manufacturing flaw: which is their fault.

And to my knowledge, there is no manufacturer which includes an 'act of god' clause in the warranty, as such things are usually confined to insurance policies.

MAny thanks Jonbob I followed your advice and employed the formal notifications advised in the Sale of Goods Act and have just received a full refund. Incidentally Snail Mail still has a greater impact than email.

What are u using for your LCD display? DVI or SVGA?

SVGA but not on the Samsung which has been replaced with an NEC Mitsubishi 1701.
I reckon its brilliant. The Samsung connections were just VGA.

If u have DVI enabled Video card and LCD monitor, have u tried using the digital setup?

No. how would I go about that?
