Hy!

I just installed OpenSuse 10.2 and noticed my harddrive got really slow.

Why is that.

I installed a Samsung HD080HJ which should support Sata2 but hdparm -Tt gives me:

/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 1442 MB in 2.00 seconds = 720.23 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 186 MB in 3.02 seconds = 61.60 MB/sec

to compare here is my old hdd:

/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 3452 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1726.26 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 154 MB in 3.01 seconds = 51.09 MB/sec

how can I speed up my sda?
