Sagem F@ast 800 ADSL modem (USB) in RedHat 9.0

I have recently installed RedHat Linux 9.0 (dual-booting with Windows XP). I am a complete newcomer to Linux.

I am having trouble installing my Sagem F@ast 800 ADSL modem (it's a USB modem). I cannot work out any way of getting onto the internet from Linux.

I tried installing the Linux drivers supplied by Sagem on their website (which said they had been tested on previous versions of RedHat), but they didn't work (got loads of error messages), despite trying to follow the instructions as carefully as possible.

Has anybody else had a similar problem? Can anybody help me with this? Linux is no good to me without the Internet!!

Thanks in anticipation.

Use a router, usb do nothing good but disconnect. I had lot's of troubles even when I use windows.

It might work, but I do not recommend modem, specially usb modem. Use google.
